Mario CoutoGet to Know Do’s and Don’ts of Painting a Kitchen

Painting is an easy and most inexpensive way to update your kitchen. If you’re never painted your home kitchen before, it can seem like a baffling task, especially when it comes to picking the colors and finish for painting kitchen walls. Yellow, red, blue, white, green and gray are all the popular paint colors for kitchen walls. The yellow color is a cheerful shade which can create a welcoming space while the red can feel intense; both are considered to stimulate the appetite. If you are planning to go for low-key shades, blue, white, green are great choices, and they offer calming shades. If you want to modify your kitchen, here are a useful list of do’s and don’ts to make sure your house project goes smoothly.

Choose the Right Color and Paint Finish

When it comes to painting, there are two types to choose from: oil paint and the latex paint. Oil paint is highly resistant to water, which is why it works well in kitchens. It also tends to be quite shiny, so it’s mainly used on cabinets, woodwork, and doors. Latex paint is the more handsome option for kitchen walls, and it comes in several different finishes. Selecting the right paint finish is crucial when painting a high-traffic space. Paints come in some finishes, from flat to the high-gloss. The general rule of thumb is the more matte the finish, the harder it is to clean. If a finish is glossy, it leads to being more “scrubbable.”

Don’t Forget Dust Sheets

Numerous things can go awry when painting elements of your kitchen but as they say failing to provide is preparing to fail. With this in mind, it is necessary that you prepare for the job thoroughly and make sure that you have the correct tools with you. To limit the spills and splashes, use a dust sheet to shield the areas that you don’t need to paint and use masking tape to bind it in place.

Do Create a Dust and Grease Free Environment

Before you begin the process of painting, you must wipe down all of the surfaces to formulate a dust free environment. Use a vacuum cleaner to dislodge dust from the kitchen floors. The kitchen is a space where food is prepared and cooked and it quite normal for a particular amount of grease to build up over time. Failing to wipe surfaces and cabinets down with a grease remover will defend the paint from sticking, and you won’t receive the flawless finish you fancy.

Don’t Skip the Sanding Stage

It can be intriguing to cut corners when painting a kitchen, but it isn’t wise to skip the sanding stage. To get the top results, you should use sandpaper to create a smooth base on which to apply the paint. Promptly buff all of the areas that you are going to paint, and once the surface is matte, you are always one step close to the kitchen painting process.

Don’t Forget to Remove Hardware and Hinges

Kitchen painting involves a fair amount of preparation and one of the steps to finish before you can begin kitchen painting is to remove all of the handles from your kitchen cabinets and drawers. You should also remove the hinges at the same time as abandoning this step can head to peeling and chipped paint.

Do Take Your Time

Once all of the paintings is complete, do not rush to put your cabinets and drawers back in their place. Allow each piece to dry perfectly before you risk touching them as you could risk smudging the paint and damaging the surface of your cabinets. Hurrying the process could lead to you having to start over from scratch so always give yourself enough time to execute the project.

Follow our tricks and tips to simplify the kitchen painting process and transform your kitchen today.

Common Causes And Prevention Of Problem Skin}

Common Causes and Prevention of Problem Skin

by

Bizymoms.com Management

Simply speaking, acne can be found to be synonymous with problem skin. Acne is typically a skin disease which pops up as changes take place in the sebaceous gland. Acne can appear on your skin as blackheads, whiteheads and even pimples. Although adolescents are the biggest sufferers of acne, there are (surprisingly) plenty of adults who suffer from acne too! So where does this acne come from?

Hormones

Most acne sufferers break out from puberty when the body produces hormones which cause the sebaceous glands to enlarge. However this may sometimes continue into adulthood where it pops up during the menstrual cycle or during pregnancy.

Extra Sebum

Hormones can cause the sebaceous glands to produce extra sebum. This extra sebum may cause clogging and cause acne.

Follicle fallout

Usually around puberty, dead cells within the follicle are shed very rapidly. These may then mix with extra sebum forming a plug in the follicle and not allowing the skin to renew itself.

Bacteria

The bacterium P. acnes normally lives on all skin types and is part of the skins natural sebum maintenance system. However if a follicle is clogged, these bacteria multiply quickly causing an inflammation in the follicle and skin around it.

How to prevent all this??

Use an astringent to get the rid of any excess oil. Keep away from daily moisturizing. You can use an oil-free moisturizer if your skin is extremely rough.

Go for water-based products rather than oil-based products. This will control the oiliness of your skin. Also look for a sulfur-based soap and wash your face twice a day with it. This can be ideally done before you go to bed and just after you wake up. Dont scrub or irritate your skin though.

Use a honey mask at least once a week. Honey is a great disinfectant which can heal small discolorations on your skin whilst destroying any bacteria present on your skin.

If you are bombarded my pimples, you might want to consider taking a chromimum supplement once a day. You can also pack up your diet with Vitamin A-rich foods which help protect your skin and prevent the acne. Also eat plenty of zinc-rich foods. These will help reduce acne breakouts too. Eat lots of fresh fruits and vegetables too!

Wash your face before you go to bed so that you get rid of all the makeup and dirt that may have accumulated onto your skin throughout the day.

Drink at least 8 glasses of water everyday. This will help to keep you skin clean, hydrated and moisturized throughout the day.

KEEP YOUR HANDS OFF of pimples. Dont break or squeeze your pimples. This could cause inflammation and infection and push in all the infection deep into your skin worsening the problem. What more it could leave permanent scars too!

Stay away as much as possible from the direct sun. However, if its absolutely necessary to go out, use a sunscreen which is preferably oil-free.
